Sustainable design

Organic [and sustainable] materials—those derived from living organisms-- are produced using methods that do not involve modern synthetic inputs like chemical additives or non-natural fertilizers. Examples include paperstone-- the recycled material which is an alternative to natural stone, recycled glass, clay plaster, lime plaster, natural fiber materials, like sea grass and sisal, reclaimed timber and timber alternatives in the form of bamboo, palmwood, cork and so on.

Sustainable building materials differ from usual building materials by their natural origin, renewable characteristics, and recyclability. All materials for residential sustainable design should be bought locally without long-term transportation.
